Anzac Day 2025
This morning, the children had a very special visitor, Tiarna’s dad, Michael, who generously came in to share his experiences from his time in the army. Michael brought along his own medals as well as his grandfather’s, giving the children a unique and meaningful look into the history and legacy of service in his family.
Michael spoke to the children about his army hat, explaining the significance of the different medals on it. One representing the Australian Army and the other representing his role as an engineer. The children were captivated as he shared stories and showed them photos from his time serving.
He also took a moment to talk about the importance of poppies and why we wear them to remember those who have served. The children respectfully participated in a minute’s silence, guided by Michael, as they reflected on the stories he shared.
Michael’s visit was a special way to help us commemorate ANZAC Day and support the children in developing a deeper understanding of its meaning. We are so grateful to Michael for taking the time to visit and help our little learners understand the values of respect, bravery, and remembrance.
